Meet Me
I don't take ordinary pictures, and I do not do ordinary photography, because I do not think that children
are ordinary.

Your child's life does not revolve around big plastic crayons, fake leaves, or cookie cutter poses.. I know
mine doesn't.

In fact, the last I checked, her little life revolved around calling mama a poopy head, wearing stickers as
clothes and eating blueberries by the truck load. Her fingers are made for her nose, and the best way to get
mama's attention is to scream in the grocery store.

She likes dinosaurs ( pronounced  Dino- THA-ours..), birds and cats.
Her little world would be complete if all three of the above were in the same room at one time. She has no
clue that this is not possible, and that dino-THA-ours do not exist anymore.. .. and I do not plan in telling
her anytime soon.

Children live with out filters. So I photograph them with out any settings. This makes the best child
photography in the world.......
It is only when there are no expectations of a child, that they feel they can be themselves completely.

They don't  know that a dinosaur can not be found by looking around each and every corner, or under a
rock,  so they peek, dig and search over and over again..

........... and I photograph over and over again.

Children live in mud and bathe in food. They cry when they want, and laugh harder than we as adults are
allowed to. And only in Austin, have I learned as a photographer that this is seen as normal, and part of
what makes Austin weird..
I have photographed children with dread locks. I have photographed children dancing around the big
guitars. I have photographed children at Habibis Hutch.. Zilker park, Austin City limits, Taco Express..
All these weird Austin places that I just love!

In my home, booger jokes are shared over coffee and juice in the morning, followed by Curious George
movies fart jokes and tantrums.  And some day, I will find someone who can photograph that ritual of our
day for me as I will miss it once she grows up.

When your child is 22, what will YOU remember?
More than likely, a favorite fart joke will come to mind..or a morning when your child raced into the living
room to announce that ants taste spicy.

Being a mother myself, I live for
those moments. You know...those BLACKMAIL moments?!

In fact..  I even have a picture of my daughter, stuck in the toilet with her feet behind her head. Potty
training does not come with lessons on how to balance on a big potty .

Yup, I turned around while she was stuck in the toilet to grab my camera.. One day I will have to pay
a psychologist for the trauma that caused her.. but for right now, it is a priceless photo.

And you know what?? When my daughter has her first boyfriend, or any boyfriend for that matter....

I'm telling  him the potty story..  AND  I'm pulling out that picture..

                                            Motherhood is wonderful

That is where I want to come in for you.
I want to give you great black and whites, color, or just silly photographs of your children that will remind
you of those silly points in their lives when they are grown and starting their own family.
Childhood pictures that stop time no matter how old your baby is.
